Buy A Solaros OS Licence
Solaros OS follows a commercial real-time OS model. Pick the edition that fits your development activities, take a deployment licence to ship it closed-source and royalty-free, and keep full ownership of your code. Lite is free for non-commercial use.
How Licensing Works
Everything you build with Solaros remains yours. Pick the edition for the capability your system needs, then take a deployment licence to ship it in a commercial product - closed-source and royalty-free. Lite is free for non-commercial use.
Everything you build on the OS belongs to you. No claim on your application logic.
Lite, Plus or Max for the complexity and execution model your system requires. Lite is free for non-commercial use.
A one-off deployment licence to ship closed-source and royalty-free. Priced by scope, not by edition.
Pick Your Edition
Three editions aligned with one architecture, each built for a different class of system. Lite is free for simple, frequency-scheduled task based projects. Plus offers message-driven task scheduling for small products. Solaros EOS Max supports event-driven state machine frameworks for complex, safety-critical systems.
Solaros EOS Max
Behaviourally complex products that still have to run on a small, resource-constrained MCU.
Complex and safety-critical products - medical, automotive, industrial automation and Edge AI.
- Minimal resources and memory footprint
- Maximum performance from your MCU
- Scalable functionality, limited only by code memory
- Greater connectivity and multi-protocol communications framework
- Unlimited events, Active Objects VSMs and state handlers
Solaros OS Plus
Small-footprint products with low to moderate event and interrupt handling.
Embedded systems with modest functionality that still need performance and minimal resources.
Solaros OS Lite
Simple systems with minimal interrupt configurations.
Small projects, hobbyist and educational use.
Editions set capability, not price. You take a deployment licence to ship - see pricing below. Lite is free for non-commercial use.

Common Licensing Questions
- What do I pay for?
- You pay for a deployment licence to ship a commercial, closed-source product - $4,000 for a single product, $10,000 for a product line, $18,000 for multiple products at one site. Editions are free to choose, and Lite is free to use for non-commercial work. Pricing is the same whichever edition you build on.
- Do I own what I build?
- Yes. Everything you build with Solaros is yours. The licence is for the Solaros OS runtime, not for your application logic.
- What's the difference between Lite, Plus and Max?
- Lite is frequency-scheduled tasks for simple systems. Plus is task driven message scheduled for small products. Max (EOS) is the only event-driven state machine framework edition, for complex, safety-critical projects. They're based on different code bases with aligned APIs, so Max isn't an upgrade from Lite - it's a completely different execution model, best chosen up front.
- Which deployment licence do I need?
- Single Product to ship one product, Product Line for a family of related products, Multi-Product Single Site for any product built at one location. Academic use is free for approved institutions, and Lite is free for non-commercial work.
